After a lot of hard work by our contractor crews, we put the final strip of concrete sealer on the floor at 1:30 am on Saturday. At 7:30, we had snow sticking on the ground. At 9am, the Piecemakers Quilt Guild showed up to set up their beautiful quilts for the Red Rock Arts Alliance Autumn Studio Tour. At 10 am, we opened our doors to the public for the first time. I don’t think it could have gone any better!
On tap for this first day were the following: Witbier, Farmhouse Ale (Iowa Corn Beer), Belgian Style Red, Red Ale, Belgian Style Dark, Stout, IPA and a root beer. Lots of taste testing and smiling! Several people told us they didn’t really like beer, and then we had them try some of the different beers we had to offer and I think we changed some minds.
And then we were off to the Swamp Fox and their Oktoberfest. Joe and Scott poured the Oktoberfest beer and root beer to rave reviews. We were through 10 gallons of beer in less than 2 hours and feel great to have completed our first event!
Joe really provided some fantastic inaugural brews and it was great to hear him explain the process and styles. This is a man who takes pride in his work and it shows! It’s going to be a lot of fun sharing this with everyone!
We will be open on Sunday the 11th from 12-5 and then begin regular Thursday evenings on the 22nd. Cheers!
