Favorite Things

Our favorite things of 2010 in no particular order.

  • We bottled beer for the first time.
  • Ray from Short’s in Iowa City.  He did a lot for us and Iowa beer by converting their taps to all Iowa beers.
  • Festivals from Des Moines to Cedar Rapids, Amana to Iowa City.  We had a blast meeting lots of new people and hanging out with our fellow brewers.
  • Joe’s beard.
  • Craft Brewer’s Conference in Chicago.  Great to show up this year as an actual brewery with our brewmaster instead of two insurance agents with business cards pretending to be a brewery.
  • Joe, Paul, Dani, Taylor, Betsy, Ashley, John, Sara, Helen, Leisha, Lois and John.  The best group of people to work with!
  • Reichert’s Dairy Air goat cheese was a favorite snack of our patrons.
  • Delivery people from Swamp Fox, Taso’s, Wacko’s who braved, rain, snow, sleet, heat and darkness to deliver warm dinner to our taproom patrons.
  • John’s Grocery debuting our beer in growlers alongside Bell’s.
  • Hosting the Iowa Brewer’s Guild for a meeting last summer.  Looking forward to more promotion and education about all the great things Iowa’s brewers have to offer.
  • Double IPA.
  • Thankful Dirt, Don’t wake the Baby, Jon McLemore, Another Side of Jane, Heidi Suhr, Crossroads, BF Burt and the Blues Instigators, Israeli Ethnic Ensemble, Mauvais Sort and Beauty and Melody for enlighting us and our guests with your beatufiul music.
  • Deb from Wooden Spoons and Apron Strings for teaching people about beer and food, then bringing them to visit.
  • Joe and Sara from Plant A Wish.  Go plant a tree!
  • Cory Carr for the great Earth Day tree give away.
  • The Next Chapter and trunk shows.
  • Sam @ Samwell Creative for helping us reach our adience with an udpated web presence and online shopping.
  • John Sayles Design
  • 8/7 Central for great t’s and totes.
  • Iowa State Savings Bank.
  • The retailers, bars and restaurants who have given us tap lines and shelf space.
  • The change in Iowa law lifting limit of 6.25% ABV.  This opens up lots of doors for Iowa’s brewers and craft beer drinkers.
  • You.

There are likely a million we have missed.  We are truly grateful!  Happy New Year!!
