Meet the Brewer at Shorts!

4/24/10  John’s Grocery and Short’s Burger and Shine in Iowa city have teamed up to do a series of beer dinners with Iowa Breweries.  And Peace Tree is next up on 5/2.  Tickets are moving quickly so get yours today at Shorts or on John’s website!  We will be pouring 5 beers including our almost famous saison featuring Iowa sweet corn.  Short’s is preparing a great meal.  Brewmaster Joe will be on hand to talk about the brewing process and answer questions about his beers.  Hope we can meet you there!

4/1/2010 Short’s is now serving ony IOWA beer on tap.  Kudo’s to Short’s for supporting Iowa’s craft beer industry!!

3/23/10 Update…. Short’s now has our Red Rambler and Rye Porter in addition to the Hop Wrangler 3 IPA!

March 16th will be the first time our Hop Wrangler 3 IPA will be on tap at Short’s Burger and Shine, 18 S. Clinton in Iowa City.  Ray Sultan, their bar manager, is a craft beer fanatic and made a special trip to Knoxville one Sunday to try our brews.  He soon signed up Short’s to be our first official draft account.  We will be adding Red Rambler and Rye Porter in the coming weeks.

Short’s is a great fit for us, we both take a common product, beer or burgers and elevate it to the next level.  We also are both uniquely Iowa establishments and have a great love of our state.  Short’s pays homage by naming each of it’s burgers after an Iowa town and using Iowa products whenever possible.  And since we are Hawkeye fans  (except Joe, but we are working on him!) it is also neat that one of the owners of Short’s is former Hawkeye kicker, now San Diego Charger Nate Kaeding.

So, if you are going to be in the Iowa City area, go to Short’s and have a burger and a Peace Tree beer.  Maybe someday they will have a Knoxville burger…..
